Business Case Studies

If you’re wondering what regenerative agriculture looks like in practice, and how these ideals and our core beliefs are applicable in all levels of business, we hope the below case studies can help to inspire and clarify. None of the businesses listed are associated with us in any way unless explicitly stated otherwise.

White Oak Pastures

Bluffton, Georgia

A regenerative farm focusing on grass-fed beef and organic vegetable production. They specifically work with multiple species of animals to complete their regenerative grazing cycle, in a bid to emulate the Serengeti plains of Africa. They consider what they do as ‘radically traditional farming, with a zero waste policy. At the heart of these principles is a core belief and respect for all the animals they raise and slaughter, and therefore their commitment is centred on respecting Earth, and giving back to the soil as they produce their food. They’re a member of several other progressive institutions, including the Savory Institute, Certified Humane, and Certified Grass-Fed.

Tablas Creek Vineyard

Paso Robles, California

Located in the Paso Robles wine area in southern California, Tablas Creek has already committed to organic and biodynamic certification standards. However, when the opportunity to join the Regenerative Organic Certification pilot program came about, they jumped at the chance. For them, the main difference in the regenerative model was the focus on the human aspect - on the integration of ourselves as a species into this holistic management system. Alongside their award-winning wines, they practice managed grazing, cover cropping, and ensure minimal disturbance to their property.

Gracias Madre

San Francisco, California

A Mexican restaurant that focuses on regeneratively cultivated organic ingredients. Their food is largely plant-based and states that, “...organic is the baseline for everything in our kitchen. People know that if there aren’t any organic lemons available, then we don’t buy lemons.” Their commitment to this practice is out of respect for all birth mothers, divine mothers, and Mother Earth - hence their name. Alongside their non-negotiable policy on organic ingredients, they recognize the limitations of the organic movement and therefore work directly with local farmers as well as owning their own regenerative organic farm where many of their ingredients come from.
